Pro Rail Academy sits in Kiltimagh, a market town in the east of County Mayo, roughly halfway between Castlebar and Knock. It’s a 15-minute drive from Ireland West Airport and around 20 minutes from Claremorris railway station, with the N17 and N5 both close by.

If you’re based in the UK and looking to book a course, Kiltimagh may well be quicker to reach than a training centre at the other end of your own motorway network. Ireland West Airport is a 15-minute drive from the Academy, with direct flights from Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Bristol, East Midlands, Edinburgh and three London airports. Most of them take about an hour.
Put that against a four-hour drive down the M1 or the M6, and the sums start to make sense: an early flight, a short taxi ride, and you’re in the classroom before some people have found the services. With low-cost fares and a smaller airport that’s quick to get through, it’s a practical, cost-effective option for individuals and for employers sending teams over.
Kiltimagh has guest houses and hotels within walking distance of the town centre, with more options in Castlebar, Claremorris and Knock. If you’re booking a multi-day course, get in touch and we’ll point you towards places we’d recommend.
If you’re unsure about any part of the journey, call us on +353 1 672 5286 or email info@prorailacademy.ie and we’ll help you plan it.
